Try going back to the standard DTM#4 or your leaner 45 pilot/170 main setup as described, adjusting leaner for warm temps and humidity. Use the fuel screw for idle and slightly off idle jetting. The "M" in DTM is slightly richer than "N" in DMN. This will make DMN#1 a little leaner at 0-1/4 throttle than DTM#4.

The KTM is well maintained, street legal with a Rekluse clutch, radiator fan, etc. We mostly do slow single-track on pretty tight, hilly land. What say you?

Idle jet: 48. starting jet: 85. the others i don't remember, but if you need them i can have a look. a have a adjustable leakjet installed. mixture screw is out 1 1/4 of a turn. my problem is the bog, and that it actually sometimes backfires :- (.

What Scottyr said. I'm coming off a 99 KTM 250EXC that I loved and my 01 400EXC is superior in every way for me, except for too small of a tank. I've also ridden the Yam 4xxF's and this bike is much different than the KTM 400. The KTM's power is much easier to handle. The Yam's are almost brutal, much like my 98 KTM 380 was.

Bridgewater VT. my understanding is that the 450 is the stroked version of the 400. The 400 will be a better woods bike while the 450 will be better where you can open it up. An alternative to the 400 EXc would be a Suzuki DRZ400E. Its slightly heavier then the KTM (260 lbs) but a great woods bike.
