The Volvo 780 is an executive coupe in the Volvo 700 Series, which was produced between 1982 and 1992. The 700 series was a long-running nameplate as they were a commercial success. Although the 780 had a 5-year run, it rode on the success of its equally luxurious grandpa, the Volvo 760 4-door sedan.

The 780 featured a lower and more aggressive profile than its 700 Series siblings, and was initially fitted with a 2.8L V8, although towards the end of production a turbocharged inline four unit used.

The 760 was a series of luxury mid-size sedans and station wagons. The 760 was the mid-range offering for the 700 Series, sitting above the 740, but below the 780. Installing the APC on any 700-series Volvo is a cakewalk, as the cars already have a knock sensor that can be piggybacked on. Good instructions for the installation can be found online at Turbo Bricks. Some Volvos, particularly the luxocoupe 780s, were fitted with an APC-like option called Turbo+, but it was a pricey add-on, and they're not.
