The second generation Aston Martin Vanquish was unveiled in 2012. Reborn after a 4 year hiatus, the second generation Vanquish replaced the DBS V12 as Aston Martin's flagship model. These second gen cars were designed by Marek Reichman and fitted with a 5.9L V12, yet cars built after 2014 were fitted with a more powerful version of the same.

Power is supplied by a double overhead camshaft, 5.9 litre naturally aspirated 12 cylinder engine, with 4 valves per cylinder that develops power and torque figures of 565 bhp (573 PS/421 kW) at 6750 rpm and 620 N·m (457 lb·ft/63.2 kgm) at 5500 rpm respectively.
