Delahaye was a family-owned automobile manufacturing company, founded by Émile Delahaye in 1894 in Tours, France. Manufacturing was moved to Paris following incorporation with two unrelated brothers-in-law as equal partners in 1898.

What is known is that Delahaye ordered the coachwork for this 135M and its sister car directly from Letourneur et Marchand. The new owner took delivery of the Delahaye in September 1939, right after World War II broke out. Records for the car only reappeared in 1960, when a buyer in Connecticut purchased the car. It then sat for over 60 years.

The 135 was constructed from 1935 to 1954, with roughly 2,000 built. These cars exhibit huge differences in body construction given the coachbuilt nature, and I think this is probably one of the more desirable versions with a timeless design.
