Costs me about $100, a six pack of beer, and 6-7 hours each time I do a major service (valves, belts, oil, etc).

I'm sure there's some videos online, but I've heard there's a specialty tool or two involved. Plus the dealership plugs the bike into DCS (duc computer) for any software/firmware updates.

Desmo service is a lot more than valve adjust. the major work items though are belts and valves.. oil change is part of the desmo service. it shouldn't cost extra. All of the fluids get replaced as well as the air filter, etc., but the bulk of the cost is in the adjustment. As Dave said, it's not a warranty adjustment, it's routine maintenance.

So it has made me very indecisive. "It costs anywhere from 800-2000" for maintenance a year!" So can any Ducati owners disburse these rumours or are they facts?
