I have a 2018 Ford Fusion SE with a 1.5L Ecoboost engine. I've loved the vehicle so far and thankfully I haven't had any issues concerning this. Anyways, I hope this helps anyone else who may have a Fusion!

2015 fusion 1.5l with 78k miles. I have yet to retrieve my car from out of state. Horrible weekend. Fyi i talked to ford dealership, it was estimated replacement for $8500 ish. It was for a new design. Although follow up i was told even the replacement was discontinued. If you think about it. Ford left the car business. They only make trucks.
