The VCM never caused the van to shutter nor did it have a loud noise. The only issue was the lag in power and the cruise control was horrible with the downshifting. About a year later, Honda perfored their VCM rings fix and updated the computer on their dime. I'm now at 214k miles with no VCM Muzzler and still very happy with the car.
