MagneRide 4.0, which is the latest generation in new vehicles today, can adjust suspension 45% faster than it did with the 3.0 version. It is capable of adjusting itself 1,000 times per second. Had it on my Corvettes and my other Mustangs. Well worth the cost IMHO. One can tell the difference on a crappy road and, at the track. It autocorrects so damn fast. enough is enough when you feel like it is. end of the day nothing is really "required" here, if you can afford it and want it, then go for it, if you cant but want a better ride later on there are numerous options in the aftermarket. me personally, i know i can afford it, and ive heard good things about it so i figured, after 5 years with my live axle suspension setup, id splurge a little.

The only problem with magneride is that when the time comes, it will cost more to replace the shocks. I think its worth it if you want to keep the vehicle stock. Like PP2 w magneride or mach 1/bullitt type. If its base then theres different routes to go. I test drove a Mustang GT without magneride.

For what it's worth, my opinion is that Magneride softens the ride just enough that it's worth it (and it also handles better). It's not night and day, but it's enough for my wife and I that it's more comfortable on longer trips. We mostly drive in Unbridle, and Whisper seems like it's even softer.

Magneride is bad ass. You get the performance of coil overs and the smooth ride of regular suspension. Worth it if you can afford it. Yes. Very much worth it. If you're curious about it hell yeah! But you also need to get the performance pack to even option it on.so that's about $5k extra. But the performance pack ain't shabby.

Magneride is worth every penny. i've driven a few Mustangs with and without it and you can tell which ones have it. the feel also changes depending on the drive mode, such as Drag mode having the shocks be softer to get the power down from a launch. you also get the active pothole mitigation that others have mentioned, and if you ever trade in.
