The Red Buses originally cost $5000 each back in 1936. The first official "Jammer Manual" was put together by George Ruhle, a Naturalist at Glacier N.P. No tours were offered in Glacier between 1943 and 1946 due to fuel rationing caused by the second World War. The first female Red Bus driver in Glacier was in the early 1980's.
