I couldn't find any differences. One article said the SHO was ALMOST 2 miles per hr. faster but again that's just sales literature, nothing to back that statement up.

I've got a SV20 with the SHO 90. The prop the dealer gave me wasn't the greatest in the world. It was a 13.5x15-K series prop and I always hit the rev. limiter at WOT. I ended up going with a Solas Amita 13.5X15. See the thread under props and power, Yamaha VMAX 90 on a 20ft pontoon you'll see a lot more comments.

Given this, it looks like there are 2 different 4 strokes offered by Yamaha. The VMax SHO and the F series, but I can't find a difference between the 2.

Standard gearcases are similar, with the 115 ProXS offering the taller 2.07:1 ratio over the Yamaha's.
